About Me
Reading and storytelling have always been a way of life for Melissa Carrigee. From an early age, she could often be found tapping away on her light blue Brother typewriter, letting her imagination take flight. What began as childhood daydreams grew into a lifelong love of creating stories that inspire and delight young readers.

Melissa’s work has appeared in local magazines and newspapers, and she wrote the popular “Family Forum” column for Gulf Coast Parents & Kids magazine. She has also worked behind the scenes in publishing—as both a literary agent and as Creative Director and Editor for a children’s book line—helping other authors bring their stories to life. That passion ultimately inspired her to launch her own small publishing company, where she continues to support fellow storytellers while pursuing her own writing.

Her debut picture book, I Dream of Dragons, began as a college illustration project for her young son, Logan. What started with a few traced drawings quickly grew into a magical adventure that celebrates the power of dreaming big. Melissa believes stories can spark imagination, build confidence, and remind children that they can become anything they dream of.

She continues to write both children’s books and adult fiction, always with heart, creativity, and a touch of wonder.
